Lance In Iraq

The idea for this blog came from Bill Hobbs several months ago when it became apparent that the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment (now Regimental Combat Team) was going to Iraq. I’m a 1st LT Medical Platoon Leader currently serving in Northern Iraq. In civilian life, I’m the Press Secretary for the House Republican Caucus in the Tennessee Legislature.

Before that gig, I was Legislative Director for the Tennessee Republican Party in 2000 and Political Director in 2002.

I received both my bachelor's degree and my master's degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

My previous military training includes basic training, Officer Candidate School and the AMEDD Officer Basic Course

My goal here is to pass on some of the things the 278th is doing in country as well as talk a little politics and media analysis. However, Bill and this guy do a great job on the state legislature so the focus for now will be military. I’ll be posting a lot of photos taken with my Pentax Optio 33WR (for more digital camera talk, go here – I won’t be covering that at all). Occasionally you might see something about Nashville’s music scene as I, like everyone else in Nashville, use to play in a band or two 'round here. An interview with the latter conducted by the mighty Instapundit can be found here.
