January 30, 2005Historic dayThis sums up election day pretty well. This statement tracks with what we heard as well. Turnout was between 72-90%. Amazing. Can't argue with this statement: "This is the best thing ever for freedom and human happiness since the fall of the Berlin Wall." Big Winner: The Iraqi people Big Loser: Who else? John Kerry. "...we have become part of the problem, if not the problem.” That quote is from TODAY. Could this guy have worse timing? As a politician, he doesn't measure up to most county commissioners. UPDATE: Megabucks Democrat consultant Bob Beckel agrees with me: "what he should have said was this is a magnificent outcome..." (Hat Tip: Instapundit.) This article chronicles a very sad event that took place near here yesterday. And here's some analysis on the good that will come from this day long-term. However, Gary is not amused. |
