Historic day

This sums up election day pretty well. This statement tracks with what we heard as well. Turnout was between 72-90%. Amazing.

Can't argue with this statement:

"This is the best thing ever for freedom and human happiness since the fall of the Berlin Wall."

Big Winner: The Iraqi people

Big Loser: Who else? John Kerry. "...we have become part of the problem, if not the problem.” That quote is from TODAY. Could this guy have worse timing? As a politician, he doesn't measure up to most county commissioners.

UPDATE: Megabucks Democrat consultant Bob Beckel agrees with me: "what he should have said was this is a magnificent outcome..." (Hat Tip: Instapundit.)

This article chronicles a very sad event that took place near here yesterday.

And here's some analysis on the good that will come from this day long-term.

However, Gary is not amused.
