The wisdom of pre-emption

From the mid-1940's to the late 1980's Americans lived with the threat of nuclear destruction. After President Reagan's defense build-up defeated the Soviet Union in the Cold War, a lot of folks thought we were done worrying about nukes.

In the 1990's, liberals were in charge of our foreign policy, such that it was. As a result, North Korea and Iran may now have the Bomb. Iraq does not. That's worth remembering the next time you hear that pre-emption is a bad strategy. Pre-emption is the only way we assure our safety.
