First installment of a new feature

WKRN or Al-Jazeera?

The first entry:
Foreign suspects held at Guantanamo have nothing to do with [the] September 11 attacks on the United States.

Guantanamo prisoners are a charade to show the good U.S. citizens that their government is doing it’s best to protect them against their imaginary enemies.

And the second:
Why is it that when right-wing bloggers talk about Gitmo they fail to mention that there is no way to know if those being held there are guilty of anything at all? Many of these detainees have had no charges formally filed against them and even after the Supreme Court ruled that prisoners at Gitmo have the right to legal representation almost two-thirds still have none.

If you can't tell which is which, I understand. They are somewhat similar. The first is from our enemy's favorite network, Al-Jazeera, the second from WKRN's weblog.

Now, there is no law against being duped by propaganda issued by folks who spend there days trying to kill us over here. Heck, in America, you are free to wish for our defeat.

But I do find it surprising that Nashville's ABC affiliate (local Channel 2) sponsors a site that regurgitates insurgent talking points. Plenty of people are giving that away free on the Internet.

Oh, and for all the family members of soldiers out there, here's a little gem from WKRN employee Brittney in the comments section of that link:

Some say our country is acting as an oppressive and criminal gang by fixing intelligence around an avoidable and incredibly unjust war. Should our soldiers all be picked up and detained without being charged?

Got an opinion to share?
